Fall Foliage in Vermont

The fall is beautiful in Vermont.  Sometimes the colors change a week or two later in the Stratton Mountain area of Southern Vermont (than Northern Vermont which can start the first of October).

The autumn is crisp, sometimes cold, often wet, but just great for hiking, canoeing, horse back riding or enjoying the scenery.  Of course, don't forget the excellent golf courses at Stratton, the Equinox or numerous other areas.  Tennis is wonderful in the cool mountain air.  Finally, as it gets towards November, there is Christmas shopping in Manchester.

For weekly or seasonal vacation lodging at Stratton Mountain, please email us at strattoncondos@aol.com with the desired date, number in your party, ages and any description about the type of place you would like.  We will try to find you a place to meet your fall or winter vacation rental requirements.

The Marble Rock Quarry at Dorset, Vt; a great place to swim in during the summer.

October around Stratton and Manchester Vermont
Some kids start hiking up Stratton at an early age. I ran into these two early one morning.

There are many farms and stands all over Vermont to purchase maple syrup, cheese, pumpkins, local crafts, antiques and almost anything else you would want. To sample different cheeses, try the Vermont Country Store, about 25 minutes north.
Waiting for November Snow at Stratton Mountain
It is best to start them out on the beginner slope. It was around 8:00 A.M. Saturday, Oct 5, 2002, when a father was already pointing out the Stratton trails.
Hey, that is no way to ride the lift.
Some people just need to get on the first chair.
If would like to stay at Stratton in the fall or November, early December, please contact us or email us at strattoncondos@aol.com or call: 631 587-1060.  The rates are low.
