Fall Foliage in Vermont
The fall is beautiful in Vermont. Sometimes the colors change a week or two later in the Stratton Mountain area of Southern Vermont (than Northern Vermont which can start the first of October). The autumn is crisp, sometimes cold, often wet, but just great for hiking, canoeing, horse back riding or enjoying the scenery. Of course, don't forget the excellent golf courses at Stratton, the Equinox or numerous other areas. Tennis is wonderful in the cool mountain air. Finally, as it gets towards November, there is Christmas shopping in Manchester.

| There are many farms and stands all over Vermont to purchase maple syrup, cheese, pumpkins, local crafts, antiques and almost anything else you would want. To sample different cheeses, try the Vermont Country Store, about 25 minutes north. |

Waiting for November Snow at Stratton Mountain

 |
| It is best to start them out on the beginner slope. It was around 8:00 A.M. Saturday, Oct 5, 2002, when a father was already pointing out the Stratton trails. |
