Traveling Around Southern Vermont
Vermont is a great place to ride around (by bike or car), hike, canoe, raft or just meander and take pictures. In the top link, the "The Fall" we have tried to show photographs that we or friends have taken. This season, we will expand this area with detailed listing of places to go and see around Southern Vermont.

| The view from Equinox drive in the summer, just south of Manchester, is spectacular. Tip: drive up slowly with only a few stops. Then stop on the way down, to let your car brakes take a breather. |
|
|
| Horseback riding is available at the Sunbowl and along Rt. 30. Reservations are required. This picture was taken one summer day on a ride up a trail in the Sunbowl area.
|
There are many excellent potters, glass blowers and furniture makers in Vermont. The only picture we have was actually taken in a studio south of the Vermont border on Rt. 100.
| |
| At Bromley Mountain, there are slides and carts that can be run down the mountain in the summer. As you can see from the picture, they are even fun for the adults. Bromley was on of the first mountains with a summer alpine slide and it faces south, so slightly warmer than Stratton.
Bromley is West from Stratton on Rt. 30 for 15 minutes, and then a little North on Route 11.

| When taking photographs, watch the signs you are standing next to. If you look closely, you can see that someone added the letter "H" to the " Check Your Air" sign. |

 |
| It seem that there are more covered bridges in Vermont than anywhere else. This picture was taken along Rt.30. |

| Eight o'clock in the morning, Sat. Oct. 5, 2002, they predicted rain. It was a beautiful day in the Village. One old-timer told me: "If you don't like the Stratton weather, just wait a hour." |

 |
| The Bridge of Flowers, just south of the Vermont border in Mass. along route 100. |
