Jerimiah Orvis, or JO, the Green Jeep
|
This is a true is a story of a real Jeep, born in 1995, and his many adventures in Vermont. His name is "Jeremiah Orvis". But his friends call him "JO" for short.
JO was first owned by a Dr. Leddy on Long Island. His family loved him very much. But then, after he was only 2 years old at the end of the lease, JO had to go back to the dealer.
JO really wanted to find a nice new owner, who would take him on adventures. Bob, a patient of Dr. Leddys, was wandering around the Lindenhurst Jeep dealer one snowy Friday morning. JO recognized Bob and whispered to him.

JO said softly "Please buy me and take me away on adventures". Bob did not know that Jeeps talked. Bob looked around and did not see anyone close. He listened a little longer.
JO then said "I have only been in the Jeep showroom for only 2 days, but I do not like it. I really want to go out on the road. Can you please, please take me with you?"
| |
But Bob whispered back to JO that his wife said to him that very morning, "Do not go out and buy an Explorer or do not rent a Jeep."
JO thought and thought ... and said "You could buy me and still listen to your wife". She did not say "Do not buy a Jeep. And when you pick her and her friend up from school today, I promise I will take you all safely to Stratton Vermont. And you know me. Every time you went to the doctor's, I saw you walking around, admiring me. I am a really sharp green Jeep, almost brand new with only 32,000 miles".
| |
So Bob bought JO that morning, and that afternoon, exactly at 3:30 PM, he showed up at school and took his wife and her friend away to Vermont. Then for the next 11 years, Bob, his family and friends, always went away with JO.
JO is now 13 years old, and a grandfather. We will tell you JO's stories. All the stories that he tells to his children and grandchildren. Maybe someday you can tell them too.
