Instructions for a Ski Home or Vermont Country Property Rental at Stratton Mt.

There are a variety of ways to rent a ski condo or a ski home, or a fine vermont country property at for a winter vacation.  The easiest way to get started, first please use our

  • Contact Us Form or
  • Email us at: strattoncondos@aol.com.

Please provide as much information as possible, such as:

  • the desired dates (starting and ending dates),
  • the number of people in your party (and the ages of the children),
  • the desired type of location (i.e., slopeside, walking distance or shuttle access to the slopes),
  • if known, an individual vermont country property complex name, such as Village Watch, Mountain Watch, Vantage Point, etc..
  • the types of accommodations required (1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 bedroom),
  • the types of beds required (kings, queens, twins, bunks),
  • price of lodging desired (moderate, upscale, luxury)
  • finally, if you have a target budget, let us work with that (i.e. $500 per night to $2000 per night).

Many ski condo owners require a minimum of three nights on a weekend rental.  Some owners of large Vermont properties require five or more nights for a Christmas rental, four nights for MLK weekend and seven nights for President's week.

Again, just provide us with as much information as you can on our Contact Us Form or email strattoncondos@aol.com.  You can call our cell phone: 516 810-6010 or our office: 631 587-1060.  For hours of operation (which vary by snow conditions), or other information about strattoncondos.com, click on About Us.

We will then contact ski condo and home owners for availability on selected weekends and search for the right Stratton slopeside, village or Vermont country property for you.

If we can not help you find the right ski rental from our inventory of luxury condos, perhaps we can assist you by booking a unit from the Stratton Resort inventory.  For condos off of the access road, point you to other for rent by owner or directly listed vacation rental by owner properties.  There are many other websites with names such as "cyberrentals", "always on vacation", "for sale by owner", "vacation rentals by owner" and "find rentals" and "vermont country properties" that provide direct owner listings.

We believe that strattoncondos.com is the only Stratton based web service that is not a real estate agency.  We are staffed by Bob Kanser, the owner, his family and about 5 to 8 seasonal employees.  For general rental information, we have compiled a list of "Frequently Asked Questions" on the following page.

General Ski Condo and Ski Home Rental Rates:

Rates on condos vary by:

  • size - condos and homes can vary from one bedroom to four plus bedrooms; the larger townhomes and or condos with lofts, are much higher priced than the smaller units,
  • location - "mountain side" (also called "slopeside" or "ski-in") is higher priced than the "valley side" or "resort area";  the further you go from the Stratton Village the less expensive the rate,
  • dates - holidays and weekends are high; weekdays are reasonible,
  • condition - the units vary in condition and age; some are luxury ski condominiums or town homes while others are basic ski-houses; some have been redone and others still have the original kitchens and baths.

Condos and townhouses can rent anywhere from $250 to $3,000 per night.  (Typical holiday rates run between $500 and $1,800 with the majority of the rentals in the $600 to $1000 range.)  In addition to the nightly rental fee, all rentals are subject to:

  • a 9% Vermont occupancy tax plus a 1% Stratton occupancy tax
  • a 5% service charge
  • a single exit cleaning fee of $80 to $350
  • a security deposit (returned after exit cleaning, phone bills and inspection) usually equal to one night's rental
  • a charge of $10.60 per person per day to use the Stratton Sports Center
  • a minimum stay (generally three nights for a weekend)

For information on condo locations, how to rent, or to return to the main page, please click here or use the links to the left.
