| Web Rentals, Craigs List, Cyberrentals, Home Away, Vacation Properties, VRBO There are many web rental sites where you can find a vacation rental property at Stratton Mountain. Some of the most popular are Craigs List, cyberrentals, home away, vacation rentals by owner (VRBO), skihomesandskicondos.com, etc.
Most of these sites operate by having you do a lot of legwork. You select a unit after going through pages of listings, then check the location, then verify the availability on the calendar, then try to rent it by contacting the owner to verify real availability, then finish the contract by making an online credit card payments or sending a check to the owner, and hoping for the best.

| Strattoncondos.com Can Save You a Lot of Time and Worry
Strattoncondos.com tries to be a little different. We try to save you the legwork and the time. This President's week we helped two different sets of individuals who had each responded to 50 ski condo or ski home listings. We helped them find a nicer condo at a better price then they had been able to find on their own.
We first find out what type of place you want, how many people you have, any special considerations, the ages of the children, and as much information as we can gather. Then we ask about your budget. We enter this all into our computer (or in some cases, our memory banks) and try to find you three or four available alternatives from our inventory of over 50 Stratton Mt. condos.

| What can happen from renting an independent condo listing
Well, generally all owners have nice places and the rentals go well. However, here are a few places where we were called in the day the rental started, to try to help the renters out.
-
There was one elderly owner (who did not sound 90 over the phone) that would often forget when he rented and rent his place twice for the same weekend. He also did not check his unit so he often forgot to do the exit cleaning before the new renter, forget to give them passes to gated parking, etc. Another agency was called one night at 11:00 PM (luckily we were already asleep) since a couple arrived late just to find another couple and their children sleeping in the unit.
-
There is one person who had advertised their unit with pictures from another unit. If you look closely at her advertisements, in the last lines, it would say "these pictures are typical photos of a xxx unit". So she thought she was not mis-representing, since they were typical photos of a unit in the complex, just not hers.
-
Several people use doctored up photos.
-
Almost everyone loves their place and will talk in glowing terms about it.
-
People tend to exaggerate. We just had a renter return to us this year after they rented another slopeside place (we had none left the weekend they wanted), but the unit really was not on the slope. There was a trail behind the unit that you could cross-country over to a slope, but no children could really take the trail, so took the shuttle instead.
