Ober Tal Condos are located on the Lower Tamarack Slope.

The Ober Tal condominiums are located on the Lower Tamarack Slope with easy access to the Tamarack Lift.  Some condos have a view of the Tamarack Lift, others a view of Bromley.  They are a 2 minute to 10 minute walk to the slope and one of the best locations at Stratton.
 
Many small families keep on requesting OberTal units year after year.  They have great West River Valley views from their spacious and comfortable living areas.  All have beautiful stone faced fireplaces and most of them are wood burning.  They have open kitchens to large dining areas.

Most of the units are large one bedroom condominiums about 850 to 900 sq. ft.  This is the same size of some of the newer two bedroom condos at Stratton Mountain.  Some Obertol owners have converted their one bedroom units into two bedrooms; keeping the original small master bedroom and adding a very small bunk bed room.  The Ober Tal units on the top floor are 1050 sq. ft. or larger, have the master on the main floor and a variety of configurations in the loft.

One bedroom Ober Tal Condos are great for a small family

All the OberTal condos have an open floor plan.  Most of the one bedrooms have a pull out couch in the living room.  One has a Murphy bed.  Others have divided the living area into another small bunk room.

Ober Tal units rent from $400 to $800 per night.  The reason for this great variation in price is due to the condition of some of the units.  A few (maybe 2 or 3) have been on the rent role since they were built in 1983 and are getting tired.  These units are called "rent role" or "renter" units.  Others have been updated continuously by owners and are called "owner occupied" or "owner" units.  These are generally beautiful units and command the higher prices.

Ober Tal condos have retained their value even in this down market and a one bedroom just sold in the lower $300,000 in 2008.
 

OberTal Condos are in six clusters, from A to F

There are 90 Ober Tal condos in six buildings labled, A to F.  From some condos in the E and F buildings, you can see the Tamarack slope.  These units may rent for an additional $50 to $100 per night due to their location.

From the other units, it is a block long walk over to the lift.  The A building is the furthest and about 1000 feet from the lift and a 5 to 10 minute walk.  The Stratton Mountain Village is a quick walk in the summer, but a long quarter mile walk in the winter.

 

The Ober Tal Loft condos have two or more sleeping areas.

The condos on the top floors are in a variety of configurations and are 1050 sq. ft. plus units.  Some have open lofts, others closed lofts and others separate bedrooms with an open Loft area.  All the loft units have two bathrooms and are great for a large family or perhaps two small families.

There are, let me see if I get this right, 30 loft units and 60 one floor units.  Of the one floor units, approximately 20 have been converted into two bedroom units.

Finally, there is one bad internet comment from a one person not liking his older "rental" unit.  We have rented Ober Tal units for years.  Everyone has loved them, especially the units that are "owner-occupied".  Our only negative comment that we have received the past two years was that one renter did not like the long walk from the A building to the slope.  So his wife, a non-skier, drove their 8 and 11 year old daughters the 1000 ft. over to the Tamarack lift..
