| Grooming at Stratton Mountain
Everyone loves the grooming at Stratton. There is nothing like going out and making first tracks on the Stratton corderoy.
Stratton just this year added 40 new efficient ski guns and spent 1.2 million on mountain improvements. Some of the glades were recut and existing lift maintenance moved to a new higher standard. We can already see extensive grooming early in the start of the 2008 / 2009 season.
But I think we are getting spoiled. Once, I think it was 4 years ago, when leaving the Kitterbrook chair one cold windy weekend day, the woman next to me said "Look at all the Balsam tree limbs blown all over the top of the slope. Stratton has to do a better job than this". I was thinking "the conditions are magnificent, and there is a 40 mph wind, and let's get down a hundred feet where it is sheltered and the snow is beautiful".
This is a new section (Fall 2008) and we will tell you all about the extensive grooming at Stratton Mountain here.
